Happy first day of spring from Bay City, Michigan! The sun was shining brightly through the windows this morning & it started out feeling spring-like but then became overcast & now it's snowing out. Nonetheless, it's been a beautiful day. Many birds are out & about, scoping out places to build their nests.

This Saturday, we'll be saying goodbye to this part of Michigan. Next we're heading down to Bowling Green, Ohio, then Detroit, then back to Bowling Green, then Mattoon, Illinois, then North Liberty, Iowa, then _____(we'll fill in those blanks as they come)_____, then Santa Barbara, California, & then Campo, California which is approx. 2 miles from the start of the trail. Sounds a little crazy as I'm writing it all down...but it'll enable us to visit many family members who we want to see before saying goodbye for 6+ months.
We're aiming for a PCT start date of April 22nd. It's Earth Day, it's a Monday & 22 used to be one of my favorite numbers. :) That date just feels good to us.
Going to soak up the rest of our time here with my mom, visit with a few other relatives & then prepare for the next part of our journey.
Simply delightful to see the bond between the two of you as you begin your latest adventure. A tiny piece of my heart breaks every time you leave, but seeing that the two of you truly live the same lifestyle, even when no one is looking, is heart warming. Enjoy! Happy trails!!! Love-n-Stuff, Mom
